JOURNALING with a Twist - September 20

The challenge for you this week is to "Count your Blessings." You can name one thing or several things, whatever you choose. You must also use a nature picture (can be from a magazine, newspaper - wherever) and stitching.

P.S. This is NOT a picture of me & DH (although that spot would be beautiful!). The book said it was taken at Havasu Falls in Lake Havasu, AZ. I picked up a big coffee table book from the "free" box at the library and it was full of pictures that I knew could be used for something. Last night when I was cutting the picture out, DD gasped & said "What are you doing?!?" She was appalled I was cutting into a book!!! I asked her if she was planning on reading the book & she goes "Well, no so, nevermind, keep cutting." LOL

... kids are hilarious...

I'll have to see what I can come up with... I know I have one or two nautre photos around.. I don't get magazines so will have to rely on my own stash...

I wonder if your daughter will start cutting books.

I'm sure I can find a nature photo or perhaps several hundred. Hmm... what to do, what to do. The stitiching will be the challenging part for me. I've done it on paper only a few times.

Gail the heart is embroidery floss. I poked holes & then used the floss with a larger needle.

I'm trying to think how that would work with the photo I have in mind..

OK.. here is mine! What a fun challenge Stephanie!

I took a photo of a beach from the internet, copied it onto a trancparency and then laid it on a srayed page and rubbed... you can see it faintly at the bottom part. Then I did some butterflies and clouds with stitching, and counted my many blessings!!!
