Here's Pam!

Tell us about your family: My husband and I have been married for 25 years this May. We have a 21 year old son and a 19 year old daughter. My husband is in the military. Our son is out on his own and our daughter is in her first year university and is in the Reserves.

Who/What inspired you to start scrapbooking? I enjoy doing crafts and back in ’98 or ’99 a co-worker invited me to a Creative Memories party. I went and was hooked.

Does anyone in your family also scrap? No I am the only one that scrapbooks in my family. Some of them don’t understand why I do it.

What size do you normally scrap? I normally do 12 x 12 layouts.

How many hours a week do you scrap? This varies on what is going on. I haven’t scrapbooked much in the past 6 to 8 months. I have been doing some sewing, knitting and crocheting. I have just started getting back to scrapping since I joined the forum in February.

What is one thing you always find yourself reaching for when creating a layout? Ribbon or flowers

Describe your scrapping style in just three words. Clean, colour, eclectic (I had to ask a friend to answer this for me)

What do you love the most about scrapping? I love the idea that I am putting together memories to pass down to my children and someday they can pass down to their children. I love the creativity of it and seeing the journey each layout takes from start to completion.

What do you dislike the most about scrapbooking? I guess that would be when your creative mojo decides to take a break. Another one would be that I get too many ideas going in my head and can’t decide on one and will get frustrated and walk away and get nothing accomplished.

What topic do you find the most difficult to scrap? I guess that would be about me. I don’t have a lot of pictures of me. I also find journaling on any of my layouts difficult. I don’t know why I do. I like the picture to tell the story.

Have you ever taught a scrapbooking class? Not really but I have found myself at crops sharing a technique that I have learned with some of the people there or helping fellow scrappers out with their layouts.

Have you ever been published? Yes I have been published one in Canadian Scrapbooking magazine, Fall 2011 edition on page 46 bottom of the page.

What type of camera do you use? I have a Nikon Coolpix. I don’t know if it is me or not but I don’t have much luck with the pictures on this camera. I haven’t been taking many because of this.

What would be your perfect day? It would be having my family and friends around just hanging out and having fun.

I can't imagine my life without ...my family.

Favorite Snack: Chocolate

Favorite Drink: tea or chocolate milk

Favorite Paper: Close To My Heart paper and Bo Bunny

Favorite Technique: I don’t really have one, it depends on the layout I am working on.

Favorite Embellishment: lately it has been butterflies

Favorite Scrap Tool: lately my spellbinders or punches

Favorite Adhesive: my scotch adhesive tape glider

Tell us about your favorite layout you have ever completed? I would have to say one of my favourite layouts I have created was a 12 x 12 layout I created with a picture that Sandie took of my daughter and son. I took the 12 x 12 layout and put it in one of the big poster frames and added to it. Before I had a chance to hand it someone, my daughter claimed it.

Thanks ladies! Just got back from a shopping trip in Bangor for the weekend with my sister. I got a couple of new crafty tools; Picture Wheel Tim Holtz die for $11.99 and two spellbinders at $12.49 each, one is a flower (shapeabilities (you cut, fold and tuck) and the other one is sprightly sprockets). I got some material at a great price too. And a whole bunch of other things. I spent all my money on me this time . Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
