| It looks like the the burlap gunny sacks we used to sit on to ride down the giant slide at the Minnesota state fair.....only a lighter version....and probably not as thick as burlap.... | |

| Here's what Mom emailed e a few min ago:
"It might be hopsacking. It is a plain weave roughly spun thread, probably cotton or linen. Burlap is usually made from hemp or sisal but the weave is plain and loose like this. Could it be bleached burlap? Love, Mum-----"

| I was thinking a type of bleached burlap as well...I actually have some of that stuff somewhere around here...lol. Aida cloth isn't as "rough" looking and the threads are more consistent and even. HTH! | |

xoxox-Ali Ali you are such a sweetie! Helen I didn't make these, but I am bound and determined to! Maybe I'll go to Archiver's and buy a pak to take to the fabric store. Ever since I saw the video on you tube for the Prima flowers, I have been a little obsessed. Okay a lot! I am bound and determined to make every item (at least one of) they sell. I did buy the Aida cloth, and I am making a flower out of that now. I don't think it's the material pictured as it is course, and not as soft looking as these flowers. The weave is tight and consistent unlike that in the picture. I got my note book and I'm writing down each idea of what you gals think it is, then it's off to the fabric store. What would I do without the fabulous women who take the time to post tutorials on youTube, and on their blogs?

| Nope not Aida cloth. I painted this one, and took the natural look out of the cloth.....But hey whoever posts next can have this first ever attempt at the Aida, hopsack, burlap, canvas flower, and approx 2 yards of the ribbon. Maybe a few other goodies too! In appreciation for the replies!! I wouldn't recommend it for scrapbooks because I'm not sure if all the materials are acid free. | |

| I guess I am not one who cares about the acid free, I use what I like. What if you didn't paint the whole thing but just painted the center of the flower. | |

| That is great Sonya! Did you ever find any material that matches the flower yet? I looked at our local material store yesterday, and couldn't find anything that resembles what those flowers are. | |

| Colleen if you want these and more goodies please pm me your address, and I'll send them off this week.
Helen since Hancock fabrics didn't have burlap I'm going to try a fabric store called Mill end textiles. I know they will have it there.
Enjoy your Sunday! | |
