Make it Monday - February 18th

Good Morning ladies!!! Today I want to show you how to make your own stamps!!!

I was sitting at my desk a couple days ago, and was thinking of something fun to share today... and I picked up this insert that was inside a container (it is just dense foam.. like the foam earrings would be stuck into.. if you know what I mean)... and thought... I have to do something with this..... I can't just throw it away....



Then I drew a leaf shape on one side.....


Then came the tricky part... cutting it with a sharp knife!! LOL!! For those of you who know me.. I don't do sharp knives well!! LOL!! Anyways.. it cut easily and could be trimmed with the scissors too....



And... voila... the finished stamp!!!

Reminds me of the alpha set I made by using an adhesive foam sheet and the sizzix machine. I sizzixed the letters out and stuck them onto clear squares I cut from a dollarstore cutting board. I then put them into a clear plastic organizer (one I used for embroidery floss). Total cost was $3 I think!

That's cool Helen! I've used buttons before for stamps and who can forget "potato stamps" from Girl Scouts? LOL!

Yep, I remember making potato stamps but I'm sure this foam is way easier to use than potatoes!

Oh I'm sure it's easier too! All I could do with a potato was a square or maybe a star. LOL!

I remember that too but we called it something else..... Lithograph maybe? I remember it was very detailed.

I think my students did that in AZ with the art teacher at my school. It was really cool!
