JOURNALING with a Twist! - Sept. 27th

Good Morning ladies!!! This week I have a fun challenge for you.... Tape!!! You can use washi tape or even masking tape! If you use masking tape, try stamping some images on it to give it some dimension.

THE PROMPT: Use a quote that inspires you.

THE STUFF: Washi tape or masking tape, paint, alphabet stickers

TECHNIQUE: taping and painting! Oh and don't forget a doodle or two!

Gail made mention about gesso in another thread... I usually gesso each of my pages before I start anything... I apply a thin layer as I fooind that it provides a base coat (like a paint primer) and that the colors I use doin't bleed through my pages and also gives my paints, eetc. a truer color. So for my page, I first applied a thin layer of gesso, then I taped the whole thing.

I then applied a water downed layer of white acrylic paint. Then some random acrylic paints using my fingers for a it of color. Added my quote and a few embossed bits and that was that!!!

That is so beautiful Helen! I can't wait to get started on this one!!!

I posted a technique on here once using packing tape. You take the tape & put it over a design you like and really press it down on the paper (magazines are great!). Then you cut out the paper to the size of the tape. Put it in water for 3 min. or so and rub the paper off. Voila - you have your own tape (it's just not sticky on the back).

Ali... you can do this for a layout or anything... most of us are doing art journals.. but you know how it is... we will love tpo see anything!! LOL!!

Here is my response to the challenge, a LO using some pics MIL sent me of her, my FIL, my SIL and niece/nephew in Ontario.
I used painter's tape. The 2 colours I had exactly matches Sam's hoodie! LOL The pp and CS are all CTMH.
For texture I added stars (Chipboard) and covered them in stickles.
LOTS of ink everywhere too.

Hope this is OK, just wanted to participate in this one for fun. TY for the challenge and TYFL!
