Linda's September Challenge - Something New

Love it Lisa! It is really neat to see the progression. Crazy how the paint looks different once it's on a larger canvas. The paint strip is the perfect addition too.

This is a card I made using a new technique I've always wanted to do but never got around to it-using an image off a tissue box. The flower is a piece cut off the box,stamped a saying on and dressed up with stickles to make a quick card rather than stamping and coloring. Just an easy technique.I read about this in a card magazine a few years back. Some tissue boxes had and still have some very pretty pictures on them and I think embossing a saying or verse may be better than just stamping. A fun something new.

Here is my LO for this challenge!
My "something new" is that this LO features my DD Kate Lillian (with her Hanoverian-Thoroughbred mare, Grace) in 2009. The fact that Kate has graduated and gone to NBCC Moncton (ie in New Brunswick) to college is NEW to me (us). This is interesting! We talk to her lots, technology facilitates that- but it does not change the fact that it is NEW that she is "gone" from our home and living somewhere else.
Hope this fits the challenge all right!

Thanks so much Kelly. It's my fave pic of them together- it's an amazingly telling photo. The photographer was thens a teen who was just starting out. I bought the pic from her on the spot when I saw it- her first sale! They are friends of ours from the barn (her, her sis and parents.) Another military family.

Yes, Kate is our only girl, and first to leave for post-secondary. She is loving it. All well here.

Here is a LO that I did about the NZ Breakers winning the 2012 Australian Basketball Championships. I used an Echo Park mini kit that I bought in Vancouver in July 2012.
