"End of the Line" Challenge

This challenge is for Marie and anyone else who is struggling waiting for Friday .

This is not part of our Febuary challenge. I just completed Kelly's Sketch and decided to make it into a challenge.

As many of you know the Canadian Mint ceased production of the Canadian Penny in 2012. On Monday, the penny takes another step to being “the end of a line.” Stores will begin rounding up and rounding down, although you can still use the penny; it will no longer be given as change.

I challenge you to use something in your stash that is an end of the line --- your last sheets of a special paper.
Also include on your LO, card or art journal page a penny and a poem or a quote about a penny.

Here are a few that I have found.

Here are three poems.

Penny on the ground
Penny in my hand
Penny in my pocket now
This day will be grand.

Find a penny
Pick it up
And all the day
You’ll have good luck.

Today I found a penny,
Just laying on the ground.
But it's not just a penny,
This little coin I've found.
Found pennies come from heaven.
That's what my Grandpa told me.
He said Angels toss them down.
Oh, how I loved that story.
He said when an Angel misses you,
They toss a penny down,
Sometimes just to cheer you up,
To make a smile out of your frown.
So don't pass by that penny
When you're feeling blue;
It may be a Penny from Heaven
That an Angel's tossed to you.
Pass this on to the people who you care
about and who you feel that are angels to you.
An angel is now watching over you.

You have until Feb. 8 to complete this challenge for a RAK draw.

Here's mine. I used Kelly's sketch and the Penny Poem above on the tag. it is going to have a book plate with his name and dates but I can't find in my records the date of his death, will call DB. He is much better with that stuff!



He passed away in 1969 and that is the date on the penny. I don't think I will be able to find anything for 1888. The paper is really old --- 2004 Creating Keepsakes. i think that is old in paper life.

I think its cool! I have a couple of ways that I can go with this one.

The idea, just came together as I was working on the LO and I thought I would thru it out there. Sometimes random stuff is good!

I thought of using "pinching pennies" as my title but then decided just to add it into the journaling and keep my "food for thought" title. The pp is the last of my Karen Foster vegetable paper from the gardening collection she put out a few years ago.

I love how this turned out. I used the saying "a Penny for your thoughts" because I felt it fit the picture.

I so love this line of paper. I'm a big dots and stripes fan and I adore the bright colors as well. I got it a couple of years ago and have used it on so many projects.
