A. Open your png background file
1. File/ Open choose your png Image
2. In your tool box
click on Magic Wand ( will look like a wand)
Click on the area of your background Image you would like to remove.
You should now have what looks like running ants moving around the area you would like to cut out.
3. Top Menu
Edit / Cut
You should now be able to see the transparent background in the area you have cut ( Looks like checkerboard)
If for some reason the image is gone instead of the area you wanted.
Just undo
Top Menu
Arrow pointing left
click on the area Again using your Magic Wand found in the Tool Box
Top Menu
Select/ Inverse
File/Cut
Now you are ready to add a second image into your background.
B. Choose your second Image
Top Menu
File/Open
Image/Duplicate Image
NAME then close original
Following the same steps as in Tutorial#1 for your second Image (the moon in my ATC)
You should have 3 boxes open
1. your Main Background , your Second Original Image, And your new Tranparent box.
Clicking on your Second Image using the
Move Tool in your Tool Box ( Arrow)
Drag your 2nd image into the Transparent box and proceed to remove back ground using steps above.
After you are satisfied with your image.
Drag this 2nd image in the transparent box onto your Original Png BackGround Image.
Holding down the shift key size your second image to fit the scale of your background by (See Tut.#1)
In my case I wanted the moon to go behind the trees.
Using my Move Tool in the Tool Box(Arrow)
click on your second image
Top Menu
Layer/Arrange/send to back
Now my image is behind the tree line.
Once you are happy with the placement of your images.
C. Top of Menu
Layer/ Flatten Image
File/Save As
A box will open
Choose a folder to save your Image
File> Name your Image
Format>JPEG
Save
New Box will Open JPEG OPTIONS
Settings
Quality 9
Format Options Progressive
Scans 3
Size 56.6 KBPS.
Save
There you have it...you have just completed your background for your ATC Card.
Now to just print it out.
Follow these same steps ...I used for the other images..only difference is that after bringing them to scale for an ATC.
I printed each image off as an individual and added to my card so my ATC would have dimension to it.
Finishing off with a light coat of a light crackle accent medium.
I am sure somewhere along the line I may have left something out.
