Tipsy Tuesday - May 28

Helen asked about ants yesterday and since we have covered spring cleaning and gardening, I thought we could move on to those pesky bugs BUT not the "Scrappy bugs."



I have a very good friend and book club member who is all about organic gardening. Her favorite product for our pesky critters is diatomaceous earth. It is completely natural safe powder that can be used around pets. Here are a couple sites about it.

I have a group of friends who are all about diatomaceous earth. I was thinking about it last night when I read Helen's question, but was thinking that it was just fleas... Maybe I have to look into it further because last year we had ants around the house... (outside)... hmmm

I actually eat (well, drink in some water) a bit of diatomaceous earth each day Helps with cleaning out the intestines I never remember that its main job is pest control!

Reminds me.... I need to get more to send to my Mom. She can't find any in stores there.

It's actually little granules that are ridged/rough and they grab gunk that's been building up on the intestine walls.

Also has silica, which is great for nails and hair growth. We don't get enough silica these days.

So is "food grade" the same as the other stuff? Where do you buy yours?

We've had spiders lately. I think it's from all the rain we've been having.

I get mine at the health store in GP. They have it in bulk
