Art Journal Challenge #4 - Weather Empty
PostSubject: Art Journal Challenge #4 - Weather   Art Journal Challenge #4 - Weather Icon_minitimeJanuary 22nd 2013, 5:40 am

I'm posting this a bit early as I might not have time tomorrow.

What is like where you are today? Let the weather be the inspiration for your page this week.

Use a quote about weather too. Here are a couple of sites with some Weather quotes but they don`t have to be from these sites.

http://www.quotegarden.com/weather.html

http://www.litquotes.com/quote_topic_resp.php?QuoteType=Weather. This site also has some quotes listed under Sun that would work.

For a technique, use some paint without using brushes.

So weather for inspiration, use a weather related quote and use some paint without brushes on your page.

Sorry, I haven't done my page yet. I really intended to but so many things were happening this past week that I just did not have time. When I was planning my page on Saturday, we had a bright blue sky and it was bitterly cold. I think my page will have lots blue but I'm not sure how to express cold. I may need to rethink my quote too. I had planned to use `The Sun himself is weak when he first rises, and gathers strength and courage as the day gets on.` Charles Dickens.

Finished a LO for this one. On Jan 22, the weather here was cold, so I used pics of the water. It was sunny with a blue sky so I used yellow, orange and blue for colors. I also added white and black because it is winter (white= snow, black= shorter days). You should be able to see my weather related quote and as for the paint - I just love that bubble wrap technique!

Nice work!! I finally got this done... I used a felt pad and one of Maria's little puffy balls to paint with... I will have to hide that before she sees how I wrecked it... lol!

LOVED this challenge Gail! I used a credit card (expired!!) to swipe my acrylic paints around, and then I "swiped" them down the ways to makes streaks. I then used the molding paste and a stencil to represent snow. Both my boys don't get it... LOL!! I do! And that is all that matters!! Thanks Gail!

That is great Jessica. What a lot of inspiration from the weather. I love too that you did a beach page with inspiration from a cold winter day.

Lois, I love your pages. Love the contrast of the sad, sodden day and then the sun drying up all the rain. The puffy made a great backgroud. Did you do the trees with that too?

You're right, it only matters if you get it. I like the effects here. Both the different ways of painting and the stenciled dots. I think I have a bunch of stencils in my shopping cart at an on-line store. Smile
