MAKE IT Monday Sept. 10

I'm continuing with this month's theme of "Doodling" today. I found a website called Doodle Art Alley and the article called "How to Doodle." Her suggestion is to start with 3 basic doodles: the swirl, the line, and shapes. She's got some other great suggestions in her article, including when you are finished, she says to walk away from your project for about 30 min. Then decide if you like it when you come back to it. She also says if you're not having fun anymore, then you're no longer doodling.

My challenge is to try doodling with any of these 3 basic doodles on your next project. Use this technique on any of the DT challenges (or on any new page completed this month) and have your name entered for a prize from The Paper Passion!

Good tips! I don't think I'm a doodler, so this is not really relaxing to me like it is for some.

I need to read it aswell...it doesn't come natural to me.

I do doodle but its doodly-ugly! At work, I had to turn my notebook page because it was so bad. A triangle just kept getting bigger and bigger. I'll check out the article because I really like what I've seen on some layouts.

I added some shapes where I journaled...

And one more... lines this time and a few swirls to represent bubbles.

Wow Pat. Your doodles are so natural that I didn't even notice them at first. They aren't distracting to the overall look of your page at all!

That turned out great pat! I have to say.. I am not a doodler either! Can't wait to see what the theme is for next month! LOL!!

I doodled a line with some dots around 3 edges on my layout for Carla's sketch challenge. I outlined the edges of the border sticker on the left.

Gail, I like the simplicity of a simple dash & dot. It gives a nice finish to the page.

I like using the dashes and dots on some of my LOs,Gail. But so far the other doodling doesn't intrigue me! I will sometimes also just use dashes around my page.I like your LO-very eye catching!

I'm with you Pat. I'm not so big on the doodles all the squiggles and such. It's just not "me". I'll do it in an art journal or when I'm bored but for some reason it just doesn't look "right" on my pages...

I like Gail's doodling. I think it finishes this page off nicely. Well done, Gail!

There are a couple like hers but mostly it's happy faces.
