Welcome to Week 1 of your Home Economics Classes!

Today you are going to learn to make Organza Flowers!

I LOVE the look of these, and found that they are very expensive to buy already made... (6 for $5.00).

I thought.. these can't be too hard to make, so I found an awesome, easy tutorial to share ....

ORGANZA FLOWERS

I made a few.....



.... and used them in my art journal....



Now.. I want to see some that you made!!!

You have until July 25th at 8pm EST to show me your piece of cardstock using this technique for 1 point!

You will have until July 25th at 8pm to use this technique on a card or layout to earn 3 points.

And for some Brownie points..... if you use this technique AND make a card or use it as a background on a layout, and have it done before next Wednesdays' challenges are posted.... you will get 5 points!!!

Oh look. Teacher is trusting us with fire. This should be fun. Jackie, I'm sure you can fit a smoke in on this challenge.

Question for the teacher....do we have to use organza? I bought some fabric awhile ago because I've been meaning to try this technique, it's just not organza.

I've seen this technique used with old lingerie.

Well I think I will tell mom and dad to make sure they purchase the school insurance just in case!!

it just needs to be polyester to melt. be sure you don't use cotton!!!(if she lets us use something besides organza)

Yes, you could use something else Stephanie! No problem! I think like Cheryl said, cotton would burn your house down.. so don't use that!!!

Ummm, I'll have to go back to Wal-Mart & check the label. Before your tutorial I was going to try to curl it/melt it with my heat gun.

Try it Stephanie!! It may work and look similar!

LOL! My dad took my door off the hinges when I was in h.s. for playing with fire
