100 things to do for great summer photos
Spend your summer with your kiddos AND your camera.
Directions:

1. Print out the following file and cut out all of the “prompts.”

2. Put the prompts into a jar….draw one out anytime you would like some “inspiration.”

3. This is a great way to spend a lazy summer day.

4. Follow the activity prompt, pull out your camera, and just have fun!!!

I'll save this for when it is not -2 degrees celcius outside (and I've got no furnace in my house!).

Theresa, why are there no furnaces? Is it cold only for a short time?

I live in the northern part of the North Island of New Zealand and we never get snow here. When I first arrived in Auckland, 23 years ago, a cold overnight temperature would be 7 degrees Celcius. But over the years, the winter temperatures have been getting colder, the summer temperatures are hotter, and we have more draughts. Traditionally only houses in the colder regions had a means of heating their homes - fireplaces, log burners, sawdust burners, and coal burners. In other areas, we used either oil column heaters, electric heaters and had wool fleece electric blankets on our beds. Recently, more houses have either natural gas heating or heat pumps as well as more insulation and double glazed windows. It is usually only really cold for about a month each year- when we get southerly winds blowing up from Antarctica (a bit like Arctic blasts in Canada!). But Kiwis are a hearty lot and don't worry about the cold - the school kids wear shorts and sandals all year 'round. I, on the other hand, wear 7 layers of clothing when I walk to work. I may have Canadian anti-freeze in my blood but I am determined to stay warm.

I think I'd be doing the same Theresa. Hope you can keep warm!
