| at a wedding do you get up to take better pictures or is it rude? I can never seem to get a good seat when I go to weddings which results in photographing the back of peoples heads. YUCK! We have a wedding tomorrow where my husband is the best man. I want to get some good pictures of him up at the alter. Any advise? | |

| hm thats true, I hadn't thought about it! If he's the best man, surely you *should* be in a good up front seat in theory? But if not, maybe just ask whoever is running the show if its alright, perhaps the mother of the bride or something? | |

| I don't attend that may weddings, so I rarely would get up and take pics.
I would ask first, though, but with your hubby in the wedding party, I would think it wouldn't be a problem.

| I too don't go to many weddings, and a lot of the ones I've been to don't allow pics in the church. | |

| I always just get better pics at the supper/dance where I am comfortable getting up to take pics. | |

| I have seen churches were no pics are allowed during the ceremony (except for the photographer) but if any doubt, I'd ask first! | |

| sorry so late in responding to this. how did the weddign go? i personally always take photo's - I am on the aisle or i just put my camera in the air (so to speak and take pics)... as long as your not flashing, beeping, or making noise - causing distraction, then i see no problem taking pics.
i was taking pics at b.d. today and my gf (the mom0 didn't even know that i was taking them. I had the camera around my neck, but never had the camera up to my face oranything - just taking shots... got great ones too

| I would next time ask if you could stand at the back and get the photos that way, if you have a good enough camera it shouldn't be a problem.
Or you could be like me, end up where my cousin is the photographer and grab the photos for free off her. [then again shes always telling me to stop trying to learn my DSLR and start making money]
