Helen - is it Liquitex Light Modeling Paste that you use? How do you use it? I bought some so I want to try and
play with it.

I bought the "golden" brand.. but it is the same thing.

How I play with it is this....

I take a stencil I want to use, place it down, then take a dollop of molding paste and plop it down on the stencil. Then comes the credit card (used) ... or a spatual. and I use this to spread over the paste over the stencil... lift the stencil... and voila.. dimension!

Just a word of warning.... wash your stecil and tools after... once the molding paste dries, you can't get it off.

Also.. I am finding that the molding paste picks up the color beneath it.. which is cool. I just finished one where I had used Dylusions Ink sprays over the page, and then the molding paste, and the paste turned to colors that were beneath it. On acrylic paints I know that the molding paste stays white... which I tend to like better. You can also add a bit of acrylic paint, or ink into your paste to change the color too Lisa!! Have fun with it!!!

And share what you did!!

What is the light part of the modelling paste? Is there different weights?

yes it is definitely lighter (better for an art journal) - the other regular container felt heavy

Golden review of products... this article is a bit lenghty, but full of a ton of information.

Types of molding paste AWESOME arcticle about the different kinds of pastes.. there are a lot. I use the light, because I just want to add texture to a page. Today I am actually going to buy the extra heavy paste, as I want to do a canvas that I want to add embellishments to....

like this...

Okay I played. I like how it turned out but not the art journal page. Oh well - you win some and you lose some. It was fun playing with the modeling paste though.

THank you!!! I am so critical of my own art - it never feels the way I want it - I have to learn to let go and I am working on it.

I love it Lisa!! I love the marbled color of the squares and how some of them are partial. So cool!

I went to Hobby Lobby today and knew I forgot something!! I was going to get some more texture paste but I completely forgot! It couldn't have been because I was trying to reign in 4 children...Rolling Eyes
