Art Journal - April 1st

Good Morning all! Today's art journal challenge is all about a color combination that you DO NOT use... ever!!!!!!!
This idea came to me when I was printing off some photos, and my color ink was low, so my dear printer decided to put an orange strip through my photo... and I thought "What a waste".. but then I thought.. "Wait... what a great inspiration for an art journal challenge!!". So... for this challenge you must use the following...

1. A color combination that you don't normally use. I used orange and teal.... and you know what? I like it!

2. A favourite quote you just love!

3. And for a bit of fun.. I want you to use some tape too! It can be washi tape.. or masking tape! (I used both).

What are the words on the background? Is it a stamp or did you just write something?

The background is made using this stencil from Crafters Workshop.....



I layed it down, and spread the molding paste I love to use over it using a credit card. Let it dry, and then inked. LOL!! I am not that artistic Carla.. LOL!! But thanks!

I love it Helen. I bought some white texture paste from Martha Stewart & I'm assuming it's the same stuff. I tried a foam brush first & then saw somewhere to use a credit card. Definitely trying that next!!

A card works way bettter.. and I actually use a card way before I even use brushes!!

Oh a foam brush was a pain! That stuff is so fluffy. I was really frustrated at first so I'm never going back to a brush! LOL!!

I think I did this journal page for this challenge - LOL - I don't remember! I used washi tape and the color combo blue & gray & some black stamping. This is my journal page that went in my grandpa's casket along with a lot of other pages the great grandkids colored My mom also put in a box of chocolates which was a special thing between her & my grandpa. Thanks for looking!
