I found this video on youtube for making a flip book scrapbook. It's a little long but I think the general idea and her example are so cute!
If you watch until 10:50 or so she does have an awesome trick for putting lace through a tiny punched hole.
Here's another video for making a flip flap 6x6 album. This one is also long (about 20 min ) but I kinda fast forwarded along the bottom to get the general idea

The bobby pin is a great idea! I use floss threaders - same idea.

That is neat! I can see little books like this being great for birthday pics -- you could fit the whole party in one album
