Week 4 - Geography Class

Geography Class

Today, we are getting ready for a special event. Does anyone know what that event is?

Lisa, "It's not your date on Saturday night."

Gail, "It's not the The Amazing Spiderman movie."



"That is right Carla, it is the Olympics."

The Olympics are coming to Great Britain, and there will be lots of flags flying!!!

Use the Union Jack as your inspiration.



Your assignment is a Layout or Altered project not a card that has:

1. Banner or Flag
2. Red, White and Blue
3. Stripes
4. Diagonals

This is what I created.



We are in our final week and final evaluations are worth more points, no bonus this week! Post before July 25 and you will receive 10 Points!

I love the way your edges are so sharp. What settings did you use?? I'm still playing with my cricut so it's hit and miss if I can get a good cut on a small detail piece..

I always cut on slow speed and I tend to have my pressure near maximum and blade depth at 6. (I know, it is harder on the mats but I do not like to waste paper.) A lot depends up on the paper, I like the thickness of the Michael's plain cardstock brand the best and it cuts really well. Textured stuff does not cut as well and Stampin Up Card stock is very hard on the blades, it is thicker and layered. If I'm using a thicker paper like glitter or chipboard, I have a Deep CUt blade and use the Multi-Cut feature. It is a lot of trial and error. LOL

Trial and error is right... I found that the slower I went the more "ripping" the paper was... I have a sheet with settings but I agree with you. I'd rather cut the mat than ruin all that paper! It's just frustrating sometimes...
