| Sit down, and no yapping! I can't abide needless chatter! Back in MY day, when us girls went off to school we wore nice PLAID skirts and uniforms. It looked mighty fine. Now-a-days girls go around with their shirts cut too low and their skirts cut too high. Hhhmph! .....and we wonder what's become of society?! I saw this nice card on The Twinery, and thought the plaid design would be a good one to try. So, stop your lolly-gagging, and let's see what you can do! Kelly, put the book away, and Gail -- enough of the day-dreaming! Didn't Miss Helen teach you girls ANYTHING!?!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I started with some Martha Stewart twine, though you can use any sort of baker's twine, crochet cotton, maybe even thin wool. You can mark lines on the back of your piece of cardstock, if you think you can't get the twine straight without it. Add some adhesive around your cardstock, and continue adding your twine, wrapping the edges around your cardstock. The back will look like this: You can change up the distances between different colors -- make your own pattern! Here's my card: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Show me your technique by July 25th at midnight to earn yourself 1 point!
If you show me the technique before midnight July 10th, you will get 3 brownie points...
If you show me the technique, and use it on a card, l/o, or altered item... you will get 5 brownie points!!

I like the one shown at that link better. I think I put my twine too close, or something.

| Add some adhesive around your cardstock, and continue adding your twine, wrapping the edges around your cardstock... does that just mean at your starting point so that it adheres on it ?? | |

| Oh my gosh Carla.. awesome technique and LOVE your card!!!
Colleen.. love those sun rays.. and yes, this will count! Awesome!!
Kerri... you can cut each length of twine, or wrap it around.. whatever works best for what you are doing.

does that just mean at your starting point so that it adheres on it ?? Put the adhesive on the back of your card. I cut my twine in lengths long enough to wrap from one edge to the other -- I didn't wrap them all the way around and around.

| That's neat Carla. I like your card. I'll have to see what I can do. I only have a little twine but I have lots of white crochet cotton. | |
