I came across this post while I was browsing yesterday, and I thought to myself... This is cool! We all do so much for everyone else, I think we all need to take 5 minutes right now and do something for ourselves!
56 Acts of Self-Care!"Before I ever practiced the fine art of receiving, I began a practice of giving myself a present. I wanted to improve myself care and knew that presents would be a great motivator. It’s something that I still do to this day! Every day I consciously gift myself something that brings me a bit (or a lot) of delight. It is essential to my self-care practice…and to my whole life.
Today, my friend Brandi asked for a tip about switching from work mode to self-care/relax/rejuvenation mode.
This is my answer:
I would make a list. A list of things that you could do, not necessarily that you are going to do. But make sure everything on the list feels REALLY GOOD! Nothing that should feel good…should constitute self-care but just doesn’t work for you. And then commit to trying 2 during the day.
I love having a list on the days that I struggle to slow down. It makes it so that I don’t have to think. I also like making the list, because it gives my doing brain something to do that is also fun!
And in service to even greater self-care, here are 56 things from my list! Some of them are everyday things. Some are not. Some are free, others cost moola. But they are all gifts that I can give myself throughout my day, week and life! What is on your list?"
