Jan 17 – Overview of Tools.
Photoshop is a huge program and it can be very overwhelming to start with. This tutorial focuses on
Opening files
Layers
The Toolbar and the tools
Photoshop Workspace
While most of the time I will be writing the tutorials I felt it was best that the basics were explained by the pro's
Tutorial one: http://60lessons.com/photoshop/photoshop-unit-1/1b-menus-panels/
This one walks you through opening a file and teaches you how to do some of the basics with it.
Tutorial two: http://wegraphics.net/blog/tutorials/photoshop/photoshop-for-beginners-the-power-of-layers/
This one teaches you all about layers, an important feature you need to understand from the beginning.
Tutorial Three: http://www.tutorial9.net/tutorials/photoshop-tutorials/photoshops-basic-tools/
This one teaches you about the toolbar and what each tool does.
Tutorial Four: http://www.tutorial9.net/tutorials/photoshop-tutorials/getting-started-in-photoshop/
This one teaches you the about the whole workspace.
Even though these are for photoshop those with Elements will find these useful as the two programs basics wise are the same. Some features may also be in other graphics programs too.
Feel free to leave any questions in our question thread however I will not be able to answer questions until Monday 17th Jan as I am having a few computer issues so do not have PS or PSE installed.
