I think it was Maggi that said she did them... Does anyone here do, or have done Artist Trading Cards?

Are they hard to get into? Is there anything special one has to know to do them?

I was looking to find more info about it, if anyone has any helpful links, blogs, or sites it would be greatly appreaciated

I do and I love them! I make them out of my scraps often now. I even have some cute boxes that I made for housing them.

I noticed that CHA showed some products made just for ATCs... I'm excited to see them.

I use playing cards or packaging cardstock or chipboard rescued from the backs of notepads as my base, and scraps and embellies. This Christmas I even made one that was similar to one of the Christmas cards I made that ended up being my favorite card.

I'll be posting mine on my blog in the next day or so, I've been putting that off.

They're the size of a playing card, or 2.5x3.5 inches, can have square or rounded corners and that's the extent of the "rules" as I far as I know.

I agree Lynn...though I think they would be great for testing out different techniques...what is the real purpose for them? are they meant to be a buisness card of sorts? will have to check out the links posted maybe that will help Smile

Well the interests for me in them, is that I used to collect Trading Cards for different things...... I STILL have Wizard of Oz ones that I won't get rid of cos I love them!

I like the idea of making my own, and the ones I've seen people make are gorgeous!

I love that you can get 9 people and make a "set" etc. Its like a collectable hobby.

Apparently there are groups throughout the world that meet and trade ATCs which might be fun on a small scale. The interest for me is not to make a bunch and trade them. I do think it might be fun to trade them with a few SB friends here and there. What I am doing is using them as training tools. I don't like to try something new on a really great piece of pp, especially if I only have 1 sheet, cause I don't want to mess it up. So then you practice on scrap paper, but that's not the same cause I know its a scrap and I don't put all my effort into it. But with the ATC I don't mind messing up something that's only 2.5 x 3.5. So on the ATC's I just made I tried a crackle glaze on a photo, perfect pearls on another, heat embossing etc. Most of these were new things for me to do. Even putting the spider web on the ladies face was fun and new. Wouldn't want to do that on a 12x12. Also, I love the image of the lady but really can't think of a reason I would want to make a LO of her but it was fun to do this little ATC bit of art.

Check out my blog to see the others.

I only do ATC as a business type card... i have been in tons of swaps like that. afterwards the fun ones, you can put them on a card, or a layout... but they are not my favorite thing to do...have to really want to participate in a swap.

great work and if you are creatinv, can't wait to see more!
