June 23rd - PINK FLAMINGO DAY

I found this interesting: 
A flamingo-friendly trend was the sameness of post-World War II construction. Units in new subdivisions sometimes looked virtually identical. “You had to mark your house somehow,” Featherstone says. “A woman could pick up a flamingo at the store and come home with a piece of tropical elegance under her arm to change her humdrum house.”

It's funny, cause I've been thinking I need to find something to put on our house or in our yard, cause all the houses look them same on my street. I often drive past the house and have to turn around to find it. LOL!

We have a yellow plastic "slow down" guy that we put in front of our house.  It's our attempt to slow the cars down as they pass our house.  We think it works.  We usually tell people to look for that guy.  We're also the 2nd house from the corner so that helps too.

We've never been flocked but I saw a house the other day that got "noodled."  A local church youth group came by and stuck a couple pool noodles in their yard with a sign from the youth group.  I thought it was kind of cute

Pink flamingos are so pretty.....they are my favorite color so they are awesome! LOL
