Thank you so much for the Cricut silouettes of the children and the dog! I will put them to good use for sure. Smile

I love how clean your (and Victoria's) Cricut seems to cut. Mine has never been that clean. I think I'll get a new blade and see if that makes a difference. Otherwise, I might try calling the company (ala Lisa)..

Thanks again!

Kelly, Cricut sent me 2 new mats and a new housing blade. This housing blade is metal - mine was plastic. I'm wondering if this will help me too!

Ah... i wonder... I bought some new blades today and want to try it when i get home. I will also check whether the housing is plastic or not. Thanks Lisa! We will figure this out yet!

Yes - they have been really good to me - although I am still cutting inconsistently. Maybe it is the nature of the beast!

I think they are a bitlike teh Cuttlebug and each machine has a little bit of difference in their pressure, when you find a paper that works good in yours right the settings down and try to stick with that company and weight. I know that CTMH works great in mine but it has a white center core and nobody else notices it but I do, alos Michaels Recollection works great. If I'm using Bazzill Textured or SU I use the Multi Cut feature and cut twice.

I find I have the most trouble with an old blade and an old mat. I know that doesn't help you, Lisa, since yours is fairly new. I guess I don't pay enough attention to the brand of paper I cut since I don't continually buy the same brand of paper.

I have mostly bazzil and SU paper. I have to use the multi cut or I can't get through it. I wondered about thinner cardstock (like Michael's) but I don't have any and I DO have thousands of sheets of the other so guess I'm going to have to multi cut! I have tried the settings on the chart that you can get online but haven't experimented and made charts of my results or anything!!

You're very welcome, Kelly!

I have a white cricut expression. I use Bazzill cs a lot, still using the blade that came with it (bought it used 2-3 years ago), using an old mat that I spray with vellum spray to make it sticky and never use multi cut. All three settings are all at #4 (pressure, speed and blade depth). I have no troubles. I would think all of them should work as well.... scratch

Have you taken the cylinder that holds the blade out and pressed the button on the top of it to release any bits of paper that might be caught in it?

As for yours, Lisa - it sounds like a lemon....I really hope the new housing works!!! Keep us updated. Very Happy
