Looking for something for PL today --- It is Tell a Fairy Tale Day

This is a day that Fairy Tales are made of (and for). It's Tell a Fairy Tale Day . Today is a great opportunity to read your kids. If the kids aren't around, its certainly okay to read them alone. We all know that everybody loves a good fairy tale.

To qualify as a fairy tale, a story does not have to begin with "Once upon a time.....". But, they usually do. It is a requirement that the story has a happy ending. There's nothing better than a good story that ends with "and they all lived happily ever after".

On Fairy Tale Day, cozy up under a blanket with the kids and read "the good book"....a fairy tale book. Libraries and schools will often mark this day with special fairy tale readings and story hours.

I love reading Cindelellah to my granddaughter. She LOVES it! I am a fan of Grimm. He's not always happy at the end, but he's intricate. That's what I love. I remember though when I was little always loving the story of Sleeping Beauty...

I liked Beauty & the Beast. I always thought of myself as Belle because I loved to read (not because of the beast part! LOL!!!)

I was more a Grimms brother kind of kid.. didn't care for the fairy tale stories... even my boys didn't like them either I know.. I am a rebel and kind of weird!!

My kids all preferred the Grimms to the Disney tales... until the boys got older and had discussions with their dorm mates about who the hottest Disney princess is... OK that was only one of them and let's just say that he had more than one degree under his belt at the time so it's not like he wasn't "grown up" at least on the outside!
