Thankful Thursday Jan. 31st

What are you thankful for today??

I'm thankful for the opportunity to have had my grandkids for the past three weeks. They've been exhausting, sleep-depriving, pooping, messing, arguing, throwing fits, hugging, loveable, kissing, sweet, exasperating, fun, laughing, cuddling, growing, changing and so many other things-ing and I wouldn't change a single thing.

What a blessing!

Awe Kelly....You just put a big smile on my face. I love hearing how much you enjoy your grandkids. Children come with good and bad but no matter what.....they are AWESOME!!!

Although it is nasty outside I am thankful for the rain. I'm happy to see the snow slowly leave and for it to have not been so brutally cold the last couple of days.
I'm also thankful that my DD is getting so very excited about going to Disney World even though she has been sick the last couple of days. She said to me when I was leaving her room after checking in on her...."Mama, only 19 more days to Disney" When I excitedly said I know...I want to start packing now. She quickly retorted "Mama don't get me all excitedly hyper because I'll through up again!" She just warms my heart! I freaking love motherhood!!!!

I'm thankful our power is back on!!! Lights, SOS, Cricut ....

I'm thankful that DH ordered pizza for dinner tonight, that he apologized for being a butt the last few days and that we got Girl Scout cookies tonight!! Woo-hoo! It's going to be so hard having them sit around our house while DD sells them!

I'm thankful I got some things organized today!!

I am thankful that something seems to be working in our favour for a change and we are over the 2nd hurdle for buying a house...the down payment. Now we just have to get the final go ahead from the mortgage broker and we will be on to the hard part...finding a house!

I am thankful for safety for my boys. I hate when they go away for work (Timothy got home at 5:30 pm and left again at 7pm for 2 days). I worry about them on the highways. Luke is gone for a week.

George is going to California on Feb 4 for a couple days to meet up with a guy to look at some redwood from one of the redwood forests there... I am so worried!!!

Does he "know" the guy? Do you??

No and No!! I am so worried, and he insists that it is ok... man he drives me crazy!!!

I know the feeling... our DD went to Houston Texas not once but twice when she was in her PhD Program to meet a guy that she met thru an online thing. I never prayed so much in my life but at 25 what do you do! Everything was fine and now she is happily married but it was scary.

It sure is Linda.. this is a guy he met online in a forestry forum, and apparently he says this guy is going to show him the redwood, and if George wants it, he can ship it back to Canada, and pay for it... whenever.. sounds really strange to me. I really wish he wasn't going to go... I have visions of this guy and they aren't good... pray that he will stay home.. but he is 22 and knows it all...

I will definitely pray! It is that roots and wings thing, I don't why some of our kids have to fly to much. DH always said, "She's got a good head on her shoulder, she will be OK " and she was.

OH... the 22 year old... well.. um... mine is going to Korea... does that help? She leaves in a couple of weeks and will be gone for 12. We know nobody there. She's walking into this job "blind" so to speak (as far as I'm concerned anyway!!)....

Where in Korea Kelly? I have a good friend who has her daughter and son in law there working.. in fact, I think she is over there now visiting....

Seoul - she's going to be teaching English in a posh kindergarten.

She is in Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam teaching english in a KG too!!

Yep, she's brave to go there alone. I don't know if I could have done that without a friend going, too.

Is she nervous about it, Kelly?

She's stoked, Carla. She's such a jet-setter... certainly far more confident than I was at her age!
