Project Life UPDATED WITH PHOTOS

Well I did it - I am almost finished 2012. I went about it at an unscheduled pace. Basically I just placed a marker at each new month. Some months are only 2 pages...some are 8 pages. I love it. When I look back at all the little things, it is awesome. I used 1 album. I will do it again this year. I really encourage you to think about it. Many of the things, I would not have scrapped so I still have the memories. The kids love it.

I used my own binder and page protectors and inserts. You can print inserts for free from many sites now.

This is the one where you just take a picture of something from your day each day right? I did this one year and lasted about 4 months.

I didn't do every day. I just did whatever I did (much more manageable when there are no rigid expectations). I have pictures, receipts, journaling, notes, etc.

Awesome!! Pete & I started DD on this for Christmas. She is thrilled with it. She's almost 19 and away at college in NB and feels less overwhelmed and "more fun" about it.

I am so plsd to have found a method to help her with this. She saw the value of memory keeping but always felt so overwhelmed with the way "I" (Mom) do mine.

I would like to start doing PL for us... but in addition to my "usual scrapping." I would like to use my own page protectors (pps) as well.... Lisa, what sort of pps did you choose to use for YOUR PL?

Would adore seeing what you did- a sample would be so great when u get a chance!

I can definitely post some ideas, etc.

I tend to keep mine really simple. I did not use much from Project Life. I used WRMK page protectors - you can buy various types. I like Project Life ones too, and bought some originally, but the shipping to Canada is sooooo expensive.

I make my own cards. You can also print various ones online - many for free.

I try and do the journaling cards as something comes up, then I throw them in a box. When I go to develop pictures, I sort it all out. That way the journaling is fresh. I use stickers and stamps to embellish. Really, it is about documenting the everyday type moments. These moments tend to get lost.

I will go and take some pictures for everyone.

Here are some examples. Notice that I don't do a 2 page spread per week - I just do what I do. No pressure. I do insert a month card at the beginning of each month though - wherever it happens to fall.







You can be as specific as you want or as simple as you want.

Just key in "project life" and you will see lots of great blogs and sites for inspiration.

That looks great Lisa. It has always seemed to me to be a good way to document life without as much time commitment as full scrapbook pages.

Hmm.. thanks for showing me, Lisa. Will you continue to encourage us throughout the coming months? I don't want to get overwhelmed. I have the whole "kit" from a couple of years ago but just couldn't do it - the year was way too busy!

This year might be the one to use it.

Oh yes of course Kelly. I asked Carla if we can open up a section for Project Life. I was honestly never overwhelmed. Just don't commit to a certain amount. I only did 1 album and for me that was enough. If you only do 1 picture/journal entry per week - that's it.

TFS, Lois. I'm suppose to do a Project for life with a LSS but it's not starting to mid month. I have a prompt list but have not taken a picture. Just trying to clean up Christmas. I love the house all decked out but man it's a lot of work!

TY Lisa! I was thinking of using some WRMK pps I had on hand that are 6 horizontal spaces (freebies they included with pps in albums I had bought). Great minds? LOL

I have gatheredf a lot of freebie cards from Scrapscene posts that I have dnlded & saved in a folder for Kate. Thought it was a great way to start- or as an addition to the Clementine set we got her for Christmas.

ITA about the little moments!!! Those are what I scrap the most.
